Lovely place, big negative was the AGA not working and with a family of 6 this would have not been a place I would have chose to book had they had told me this in advance.

We had a lovely stay at Colleton Cottage - part of the Cosy Cottages run by Lovelady Shields Hotel next door. The team was easy to contact for issues we had during the stay. Thank you Claire, Harvey and Anna for all your help in getting us settled in. The place was spacious and the hot tub was great to use. Also the kids loved the large tv in the lounge. The cottage was set in beautiful surroundings with lots of nature & some nice walks close by. Unfortunately the aga cooker was broken, which we only found out about after we checked in, so it was difficult to prepare food, although we were give an air fryer to assist in cooking. Also, the outside doors were worn and difficult to close. The road leading to the hotel was really worn and full of potholes, and in urgent need of repair. The nearest shops (co-op and Spa) were about 3 miles away in Alston so probably best to stock up items from there. Overall we had a wonderful and relaxing break, thank you so much to the host and the team.
